Home care instructions is a one hour session in which you will learn how to release tension and control pain using acupressure. Acupressure is applying finger pressure to certain points on the body other than where the pain is. TMJ is a muscle stress syndrome and most, if not all pain arises from the muscles. Acupressure is a non-drug technique which is specific and effective.
In this session you will also learn diaphragmatic breathing and the essentials of healthy posture and walking to reduce stress on the muscles. Also basic nutrition is touched upon to help you avoid tension arising from not eating, or eating the chemicals in certain foods which foster muscle tension.
